Wordsmiths is operated by Second Wind Studios LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Wordsmiths (the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We store this information to create and manage your account.

Game Data

We collect and store gameplay data including your display name, game history, statistics (wins, losses, ELO rating), experience points, level, and in-game purchases.

Payment Information

When you make a purchase, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect, store, or have access to your full credit card number or payment credentials. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI DSS standards. We receive and store only transaction metadata such as the payment amount, currency, transaction ID, and purchase details.

Guest Players

If you play as a guest without signing in, we do not collect or store any personal information. Guest data exists only for the duration of the game session.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is essential for the Service to function and is not used for tracking or advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain your account
• To display your name and avatar to other players during games
• To track game statistics, rankings, and leaderboards
• To manage your friends list and social features
• To process in-game store purchases
• To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your display name, avatar, and game statistics may be visible to other players through leaderboards and in-game interactions.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase. We use server-side authentication and industry-standard security practices to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In — for authentication (Google Privacy Policy)
• Firebase — for data storage and authentication (Firebase Privacy)
• Stripe — for payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)

7. Children's Privacy

Wordsmiths is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information and game data for as long as your account is active. Purchase records and transaction data are retained for legal and accounting purposes. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial transaction records).

9. Your Rights

You may:

• Update your display name and avatar at any time from your profile
• Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us
• Sign out and play as a guest without an account

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
